Teacher Training Young Innovators Project

Client/Partner: EIT Climate KIC – Young Innovators Program
Year of execution: 2021

Project Summary
In 2021, I worked as a trainer for the Young Innovators Programme, an EIT Climate-KIC initiative to bring systemic innovation and climate education methodologies to schools in Europe. My main contribution was training teachers in Portugal on the Young Innovators Teachers' Handbook, supporting them in integrating the methodology into their pedagogical plans and empowering students aged 12 to 18 to become protagonists in tackling the climate crisis.

During the training, I worked with concepts of systems thinking, challenge-oriented innovation, and active learning methodologies, helping teachers apply classroom practices that encourage creativity, problem-solving, and engagement with local challenges related to climate change.

Impact/Results
– Direct training of Portuguese teachers to integrate the Young Innovators methodology in their schools.
– Dissemination of innovative pedagogical practices that connect formal education and climate action.
– Contribution to the program’s goal of engaging millions of young people by 2030.
